Odeum Sports & Exposition Center
Jon is the Business Development & Marketing Director for "DuPage County's Largest Sports and Exposition Center," which welcomes 1.2 million visitors each year into Villa Park for trade shows, banquets, concerts, sports, and corporate events of all kinds.
Jon is a 27 year veteran in arena event and live entertainment marketing and sales, handling a variety of performance mediums and sporting events. Having worked with such clients as Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, Disney On Ice, the Harlem Globetrotters, Stars on Ice, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the Rockettes, Monster Jam, Disney Live, and so many others; and, has also produced and marketed weekday luncheon theatre programs targeted to the senior citizen audience.
Jon’s local community involvement began when he worked with the Chicago Slaughter Professional Indoor Football Team for the 2010 and 2011 seasons at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates. Owned by '85 Bears Legend, the Punky QB, Jim McMahon and Head Coached by '85 Bears Champ, Steve "Mongo" McMichael, Jon was very active with the Hoffman Estates Chamber of Commerce and promoting the team within the community. He wants to bring that same community involvement and business support from the Odeum as a Board Member of the Villa Park Chamber of Commerce.
Something you may not know about Jon is that he is a playwright of 5 audience-interactive, live theatrical comedies of which his favorite is When Irish Cows Are Smiling...THE Hilarious MOO-morial Tribute to O'Leary's Cow. This audience participation comedy set back in March 1872, five months after the Great Chicago Fire, allows audience members to attend services at Diggum, Deepe & Dye Funeral Parlour to pay their respects to Daniella Joy O'Leary (the cow) as if they were one of the family. It ran for 7 seasons at The Milk Pail in East Dundee, Illinois, during March and the St. Patrick's Day holiday.
